Graduated in 1994 from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Training was also received at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Andrews Airforce Base with main training on the base of Bethesda Naval Hospital.

Residency:

Fort Benning, GA: 1994 – 1997
Family medicine residency with full spectrum of pediatrics to geriatrics as well as obstetric deliveries, minor surgeries, and inpatient medicine. There was also training in advanced trauma as part of the military mission.  Practice in use of ultrasound for injection related to sports medicine.

Fellowship:

UNC Faculty Development Fellow: 2004
Training designed to improve a family physician’s ability to lead in teaching, management, research and use of technology. The training was conducted over a 1-year period and took place at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
