Don’t Just Freeze Your Butt Off This Winter, Cryotherapy Will Freeze Warts and More!
Winter might stir up images of loved ones gathered around a Christmas tree, indulging in a mug of hot chocolate or cozying up next to a fire, but with it also comes with short days and cold nights. As winter settles in, don’t just freeze…freeze your warts and more off!
Cryotherapy is a medical procedure that can be performed in an office setting. Extremely cold liquid nitrogen is carefully applied to the treatment area, freezing and damaging the targeted tissue. Following treatment, the destroyed skin will blister or scab until fully healed about 1-2 weeks later, usually without any scarring.
Cryotherapy is an excellent therapy option for treating a wide range of skin and tissue conditions because it is minimally invasive while completely removing the damaged area. Cryotherapy treats:
- Warts and skin tags
- Dark spots
- Precancerous cells on the skin
- Cancerous cells on the skin, such as basal and squamous cell carcinoma, when caught in the early stages
Winter is a great time to explore what cryotherapy can do for you; you can have unsightly or dangerous skin lesions removed in time for short sleeves and shorts season in the summer. To learn more about our in-office cryotherapy treatment, call Westgate Family Physicians at (864) 574-0070.
